What is the Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program?

The Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP) is a structured lifestyle change program, covered by Medicare Part B at no cost to you, designed to help people with prediabetes reduce their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.

Research shows that modest lifestyle changes — losing 5–7% of body weight and increasing physical activity to 150 minutes per week — can reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes by up to 58%.
